Ragnar Kjartansson's work My Mother is a photograph of the artist's mother, Guðrún Ásmundsdóttir, which he took of her as a boy in 1983. 

Ásmundsdóttir, who is an actress, is the source of much inspiration for the artist. The mother and son have collaborated on the renowned video series Me and My Mother since 2000. The edition of 40 was published on the occasion of the exhibition Me and My Mother at i8 Gallery in 2015.
